TILE FIRE PRODUCES BESPOKE MURAL FOR LIDL

The supermarket chain Lidl commissioned Liverpool’s bespoke tile specialist, Tile Fire, to manufacture and install two bespoke tile murals depicting the town’s history at their new store in Halstead, Essex.

The murals were produced from photographs dating back to the early 1900’s- one depicting the town centre and the other Halstead’s former train station. The images were sourced with help from the Halstead History Society.

Tile Fire Director Andrew Cousins commented: “We’re ecstatic to have been involved in such a unique project, the murals remember a time over 100 years ago. I’d like to think they’ll still be around in 100 years for future generations to enjoy.”

Lidl originally from Germany opened its first UK store in 1994 and the company now boasts over 650 stores across the UK. Tile Fire manufacture bespoke tiles and tile murals, setup with support from the Prince’s Trust Enterprise scheme. Director Andrew Cousins won the North West Enterprise Award in 2016.
