SURFACE AND MATERIALS SHOW PROVES A SUCCESS

The 2016 Surface & Materials Show  attracted a record number of architects and designers compared to last year.

The 2016 Surface & Materials Show, which took place between 18-20 October as part of UK Construction week, attracted a record number of architects and designers, compared to last year.

Forming a notable feature of UK Construction Week, the Surface & Materials Show presented a vital opportunity to keep up to date with the latest surface design innovations. From practical solutions and advice to investigations into material properties and performance, the event allowed visitors to enhance their knowledge of the surfaces market, while also exploring a whole world of forward-looking construction solutions, right next door.
Special features

Award-winning experts Material Lab curated the central feature at the show - the Surface & Materials Hub. Material Lab showcased surface innovations by leading manufacturers, designers, and emerging talent, in partnership with sponsors Dulux, Granorte, Johnson Tiles and Jesmonite.
The Surface & Materials Hub also hosted an active programme of workshops, seminars and the WAN Concrete in Architecture Award Ceremony 2016.

Live screen printing sessions by Daniel Heath Studio and flooring workshops in conjunction with the Flooring Industry Training Association were other interactive highlights at the show.

Exhibitors at the cutting edge of innovation

The Surface & Materials Show hosted 7,000sqm of exhibition stands, featuring both established and emerging brands within the industry showing products ranging from external cladding and paving to internal flooring and work surfaces, and from elegant wall-treatments to stylish sound insulation.

Darren Clanford, from Johnson Tiles, said:  "This is our second year of exhibiting at the Surface & Materials Show, following a successful event in 2015.
