NEOLITH’S NEW COLOUR WINS PRESTIGIOUS DESIGN AWARD

Neolith, a brand of sintered stone, has received a prestigious Muuuz International Award 2018 for Krater, a dark, swirling-patterned slab which pays homage to natural soapstone.

Launched earlier this year, the Krater was created in response to the popularity of Neolith’s Nero Marquina (which received a Muuuz International Award in 2017) and a growing design trend for darker shades and tones in kitchen and bathroom settings.

The Muuuz International Awards communicate with 25,000 architects, interior architects, decorators and layout professionals to select the most innovative products. With more than 2,200 new products over seven categories, Krater proved to be a favourite in the ‘Materials’ category.

Krater draws on soapstone’s heritage as a material used to construct some of the world’s most enduring monuments, including Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer, a distinctive surface with universal appeal.

The depth and contrast offered by darker stones has gradually increased in popularity amongst interior designs looking to add bold and striking focal points within a room, be it a commercial, retail or residential setting.

Krater perfectly showcases the expertise of Neolith’s research and development team. The surface is characterised by a beautifully swirling, deep grey grain, which has been captured using the very latest technology to create an organic, continuous pattern, true to the look of the natural stone.

Krater is offered in Silk and Riverwashed finishes and is ideal for worktop, flooring and wall cladding applications (6mm).

The awards will be presented to the winners at a ceremony in Paris on the 20th June at the InterContinental Paris le Grand.
