A new networking initiative designed to bring together professionals from across the natural stone industry will launch in London on 9 September 2026.
We Are Stone is the brainchild of Becca Cranthorne, Director of Athena Stonecare, who created the informal networking group to encourage greater collaboration, connection and peer support across the sector.
Open to anyone working in the stone industry, the free-to-attend events aim to provide a welcoming space where attendees can share ideas, exchange experiences and build relationships without the pressure of formal business networking.
Becca Cranthorne said: "The stone sector is unique because the many different facets work in harmony and can't survive without each other. From quarries to fabricators, masons and suppliers, every part of the industry plays a vital role in bringing projects to life.
"At a time when many businesses are facing a challenging market, we wanted to create a space where people can connect with counterparts, partners and even competitors. There is lots of brilliant work being done across the sector to promote natural stone, but if we don't look after the people, what is the point?"
The organisers say the initiative has been developed to address the lack of opportunities for people across the industry to meet informally, with regular events planned to strengthen relationships and foster a supportive community.
The inaugural event will take place from 6pm to 9pm on 9 September 2026 at Bulthaup Mayfair, 37 Wigmore Street, London W1U 1PP. Drinks and refreshments will be provided, with no presentations or speeches – simply an opportunity for like-minded professionals to meet, discuss industry challenges and reconnect with colleagues old and new.
