PALACE CHEMICALS NOMINATED FOR THREE TTA AWARDS

Palace Chemicals has been recognised in the TTA Awards’ Best Heritage Project category for its work in ’The Loft’ project in Bradford.

Long-established family firm Palace Chemicals has been nominated for three The Tile Association (TTA) Awards.

The Liverpool-based manufacturer of tile adhesives, grouts, building chemicals, wood treatments and decorating sundries is up against seven other firms in the ‘Excellence in Supply and Services’ category.

The company, which is based on Speke Industrial Estate and was founded in 1978, is also up for two further accolades. Palace Chemical’s work in ‘The Loft’ scheme in Bradford was entered in the ‘Best Heritage Project’ section and its involvement in an upgrade to bathrooms at Newcastle’s International Centre for Life was entered in the ‘Best Commercial Project Small (up to 250m²)’ category.

The ‘Excellence in Supply and Services’ category recognises Palace’s consistently ambitious programme of investment and innovation in the latest technology.

The Loft project involved Palace products being used by Ceramica Tiles on a £5m Bridge Atlantic UK scheme in Bradford, which transformed one of two large blocks of wool warehouses into 110 hi-spec apartments.

Charles Clapham, Managing Director of Palace Chemicals, said: “The TTA awards really are a prestigious initiative that recognises the premium of work in the tiling industry through members of The Tile Association.

“We have stuck to our side of the bargain - providing top quality products to enable only the best results in construction and DIY. We just need a little help to push us to victory with the public vote.”

The awards will be judged by Tim Tatlock, Group Buying Director of Topps Tiles, Steve Wagstaff, Managing Director of Pro-Tilers UK Wall & Floor, Rebecca Talbot, who chairs the TTA’s marketing committee and awards working group, and Joni Taylor, who is responsible for policy, strategy, curriculum and accreditation as Head Of Continuing Professional Development at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The awards will be held at Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 27th March.
