Tile Giant extends Parkinson’s partnership

Parkinsons UK
Tile Giant, based in Staffordshire, has extended their two year fundraising partnership with Parkinson’s UK until the end of 2015.

The partnership, which began in 2013, has seen all 115 stores nationwide and 450 staff involved in raising over £170,000 for the charity, including matched funding. The money raised to date has supported Parkinson’s UK’s mission to extend its network of specialist Parkinson’s nurses across the country.

Since 2013, Parkinson’s UK has been able to fund 21 new nursing posts, meaning Tile Giant has contributed to providing much needed extra nurse support for at least 6,000 more people with Parkinson’s.

Tile Giant now aims to raise £200,000 in total by the end of the year, by continuing to take part in a variety of fundraising activities such as fun runs, golf days, cycle rides, cake sales and their annual football tournament.

Andy Morrison, managing director at Tile Giant, commented: “Parkinson’s UK is our first ever national charity partnership – and so far has been a huge success. I am very proud of the way our employees are working together to generate such a fantastic amount and I’m thrilled we’re extending the partnership until the end of 2015.

“Our staff members continue to come up with great new ways to fundraise, from cake sales to rowing the equivalent of the English Channel. It’s wonderful knowing this money will provide a legacy to help support people with Parkinson’s for many years to come."

Steve Ford, Parkinson’s UK chief executive, added: “Our partnership with Tile Giant is very important to us. They are our first major corporate partner, and we can’t thank them enough for engaging their employees in fundraising and raising awareness of Parkinson’s at every single one of their 115 nationwide stores – here’s to raising even more money by the end of the year."

Andy Morrison, Tile Giant managing director, and Mark Finbow, operations director are going one giant step further by taking part in the London to Paris cycle ride, whilst Cheltenham store manager Kevin Chandler is trekking the Great Wall of China in September– you can donate at justgiving.com/Kevin-Chandler3
